What We Believe

What We Believe

Our Statement of Beliefs

The Scriptures

We believe the Bible to be the perfect Word of God, fully and verbally inspired of God. We believe the Scriptures to be the inerrant, infallible Word of God, as found within the 66 books from Genesis to Revelation. We believe God not only inspired every word, but has preserved them through the ages. For reasons of unity within the church and textual reliability we choose to use the King James Version of the Bible.

Psalms 12:6-7 II Timothy 3:15-17, I Peter 1:23-25, II Peter 1:19-21

God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

We believe that there is only one true and living God and that God manifests Himself in three persons; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This is called the Trinity – God manifesting Himself in three persons yet one God.

I Corinthians 8:6, Ephesians 3-14

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice; and that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate.

Isaiah. 7:14; 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14; 2 Cor. 5:19-21; Gal. 4:4-5; Phil. 2:5-8 Acts 2:18-36; Rom. 3:24-25; 1 Pet. 2:24; Eph. 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3-5 Acts 1:9-10; Heb. 9:24; 7:25; Rom. 8:34; 1 John 2:1-2

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, co-equal with the Father and Son and of the same substance and nature; that He convicts of sin, righteousness and judgment, bears witness to the truth, is the agent of the new birth and that He seals, endues, guides, teaches, witnesses to, sanctifies, and helps the believer, indwelling every true child of God.

Ephesians 1:13-14; I Corinthians 12:1-3

Sin and the Fall of Man

We believe that man was created
in the image of God but due to his transgression fell from his innocent state. As a result, all mankind exists as a fallen race with an inherited sinful nature. Thereby, he stands in need of God’s grace.

Genesis 1:26-27, 2:16, 3:15-16; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:8-9

The Church

We believe that the local church is a group of baptized believers that exists to exhort one another and to share Jesus Christ with the world.

I Corinthians 12:12-27, Ephesians 1:22-22

Satan

We believe that Satan is a fallen angel who has come to kill, to steal, and to destroy. His goal is to deceive mankind from the truth of God.

John 10:10, I Peter 5:8, Revelation 20:10

Creation

We believe the Genesis account of creation as literal and historical. We believe that creation occurred in a six-day week; each day having 24 hours.

Genesis 1, Colossians 1:16

Redemption from Sin

We believe that the only escape from the condemnation of sin is through the redemption found only in Christ. It is through His death and resurrection that our sins were atoned for and our victory over sin secured.

John 3:16; Romans 5:8, 10:9, 10:10

End Times

We believe that Jesus Christ will return to call His church to Himself. Those left behind will enter the Tribulation period after which Christ will return to earth and set up His kingdom of one thousand years. After this, Satan will be loosed and then judged. Unbelievers will stand at the Great White Throne to face eternal judgment and believers will spend eternity in the presence of God.
